It was a cold & grey April
morning, but you could hear the rumble coming from the east, west,
north, and south as 13 corvettes and 5 civilian cars converged at the
Bon-Ton parking lot. This grey day did not put a damper on the spirits
of the occupants of those vehicles. Determination took over and once we
hit the road, there was no stopping our quest for a good time,
companionship, and driving.
The weather did improve a little and the sun did manage to break through
occasionally. Fortunately, the rain held off.
We had lunch at the Cafe' Nostalgia at the winery. Everyone had shopping
bags from their visit to the Brotherhood Winery shop and gift shop. Our
next stop was a short 91/2 miles north of the winery to the Orange
County Choppers' gift shop. The bikes built by the Tuttles were on
display. Some of the bikes were out on tour and we did not get a
chance to see as many of them as our first visit. Again, everyone did
their fair share of shopping. As a bonus, some of us caught a glimpse
of Paul, Jr. as he exited the gas station, located about a mile from the
store, in his burgundy Hummer .
Our last stop was for dessert
at the Chatterbox in Newton, NJ. People enjoyed milk shakes, ice cream,
sundaes, hot dogs, etc.
Despite the weather, we had a good run with old and new friends.
