The Animals

Each year thousands of animals across the country are abused , abandoned , or killed .  This is very troubling in a society such as ours .  It is how we treat our innocent, domesticated pets that distinguish us as a people .

Many people think it's alright to beat , abuse and torture dogs and cats . These poor animals never deserve such treatment , . . . they only wish to give love and loyalty to their owners .

We've all followed the reports on pro quarterback Michael Vick and the horrific torture and death he performed on his dogs . He is just one example of the heartless abuse thrust upon so many of our country's pets .

So , if many of these animals don't end up dead , many times they are beaten and left on the side of the road to suffer needlessly .

If they are lucky , they may end up in a animal shelter and be nursed back to health .

Are YOU an animal lover ??  If you are , then these actions should be very disturbing to you .  But , WHAT CAN YOU DO ? ?

Well , if there is room in your heart AND home then perhaps you will consider pet adoption . PLEASE DON'T BUY A PET FROM A PET STORE OR PUPPY MILL !  There are thousands of loving and wonderful cats and dogs available from the animal shelters and rescues .

If you already have pets and can't accommodate another animal , perhaps you can find the time to volunteer at one of the local shelters .

If your daily schedule doesn't permit this , then please consider a small donation .  Our volunteers will make sure it goes to the most deserving organizations in our area !

Thanks once again for your support !
